The town of Hissarya is located at the foot of Sredna Gora (Southern Bulgaria). The many mineral springs, as well as the favorable cimate, attract tourists in this place since antiquity. Remains of a prehistoric settlement dating from the 5th millennium BC have been found on the site of today’s Hissarya. The first remains in the city are from the Thracians, and only later in 46 a large Roman city appeared. After the collapse of the Western Roman Empire, the ancient city of Hisarya (Diocletian) was part of the Eastern Roman Empire and became a cultural and spiritual Christian center. Today’s city is famous for its healing mineral springs, as well as many architectural and archaeological sites. In the city you can visit the Archaeological Museum, walk around the ancient city, declared an archeological reserve, where you can see a Thracian tomb, excavations of Roman baths, barracks and administrative buildings, enjoy the beautiful parks with rare plant species from all over the world. The resort offers wonderful conditions for recreation and spa treatment, congress, eco-hiking, rural, cultural, holiday tourism. 20 km. west of the town is the village of Starosel, where a Thracian cult temple was discovered.

Horse riding
Located at the foot of Sredna Gora, the town of Hissarya offers unique nature around it, suitable for horseback riding. Nearby are Ezdul Equestrian Base (2.4 km. From Real Apartments) at the very end of the town and Trakiets Equestrian Base in the village of Zhitnitsa (18.3 km. From Real Apartments). In both bases you can take horseback riding lessons or enjoy a long walk in nature on the back of one of their stallions!

Locality “The Cross” – Hissarya
A wonderful place with a panoramic view over the ancient city and Sredna Gora. There are tables suitable for picnics, barbecues, unloading hours in the beautiful nature and inspiration for photographers. Above the pavilions rises a large luminous cross, and at its foot there is an icon of the Holy Mother of God with the Infant carved in the rocks, as well as a carved laurel branch. The road to this area from the Momina Banya neighborhood is about 20-30 minutes of moderate ascent up the hill.

There are many picturesque eco-trails around Hissarya and the region, where you can escape from the gray everyday life and the heat, and enjoy the beauty and coolness of the centuries-old Bulgarian forests. Such places are “Path of Health” and eco-trail “Thracian Mounds” near Koprivshtitsa, eco-trail “White River” near Kalofer and eco-trail “Kliment” near the village of Kliment.
